Where does this map data come from?

TWRA’s Hunting Allowed map layer, plus Forest Service, Fish and Wildlife Service and state forestry pages.

Does the map show boundaries?

No, one marker per area. Boundaries are on the official area maps.

Can I use this map offline?

No. For offline use, download the TWRA area maps or use the TWRA On The Go app.

Are private lands shown?

No. Only public areas open to hunting.

How often is it updated?

The area list is rechecked against TWRA each season.

Which areas need quota permits?

Area pages flag quota hunts. Permits are drawn through TWRA.

Is every WMA included?

Areas with too little published detail for their own page are left off until TWRA publishes more.

Can I hunt everywhere inside a marked area?

Not always. Refuges and safety zones inside areas can be closed.
