Gear Tennessee law requires
These items are required for at least one hunt. The law page has the full rules.
Broadheads
Tennessee law requires hunting arrows and bolts to be fitted with sharpened broadheads; carry spares in a protective case.
Blaze orange hat
The 500 sq in orange or pink requirement covers the head as well as the upper body, so a hat is part of meeting the rule.
Nontoxic (steel) waterfowl shells
Tennessee rules require waterfowl to be hunted with nontoxic shot of T size or smaller; lead shot is illegal for ducks.
Shotgun magazine plug
Shotguns used for migratory game birds may hold no more than three shells, so a magazine plug is required unless the gun is already limited to three.
Buckshot shells
During Tennessee's night coyote and bobcat season, only shotguns with buckshot or smaller shot may be used.
