Georgia WRD public ranges, explained
How many Georgia WRD public ranges made this list?
This list carries 46, checked October 13, 2026.
Which Georgia counties have the most WRD public ranges?
Jeff Davis County leads with 2, then Putnam (2), McDuffie (2) and Jasper (2).
Which WRD ranges have staff?
Georgia Southern University Shooting Sports Education Center, Pinetucky Gun Club, Ranges at Oakfield, Two Rivers Gun Range, Union County Gun Range, Clybel Shooting Range, Mike Commander Shooting Range, Richmond Hill Shooting Range and Wilson Shoals Shooting Range; the rest are unstaffed.
What does it cost to shoot at a WMA range?
Nothing beyond the pass: a georgia hunting license, fishing license or lands pass (georgia outdoor recreation pass) is required. State park and Forest Service ranges charge their own day fees, shown in the table.
Do WRD archery ranges need the safety video?
No. The Range Safety Video Certification applies to the gun and air rifle ranges; archery ranges ask only for the license or pass.
Is there a near-me sort for Georgia WRD public ranges?
Yes. The location button sorts by miles from you, and the county menu sorts from a county center instead.
What gear does the line expect?
Hearing and eye protection, a cased and unloaded gun, ammunition the range permits and your own targets. WMA ranges also need the license or Lands Pass, and firearm lines the safety video.
When were the rows last verified?
Checked October 13, 2026 against the WRD pages, the GA DNR layer and the directory listings; doubtful rows were dropped.
